So this week, I’m going to present to you 5 different methods of making money online as a gamer which I find to be the best if you figure out your way through one of them.

Gamers spend a lot of their day inside playing games which usually explains why they usually are very knowledgeable about the internet and the online world. That usually means they already acquired very valuable skills that would otherwise take thousands of dollars simply to learn them.

So let’s get started with the top 5 best money making methods for gamers in 2017.

#5 – E-Sports Betting

The least recommended money making method out of my list, but it still made it up on my top 5 because of how rewarding it is once you build yourself a system and you are disciplined. E-Sports betting is very new and hasn’t been out for a long time, that means a gamer who spends most of their time gaming will have a very good edge against the bookies. In E-Sports betting, you usually have to place your money on a game, in a certain match. For example, say TSM vs C9 in League of Legends, and TSM is favorite by 3 to 1, but you know C9 is in very good shape this week which should put the odds at closer to 1:1, you can place a bet on C9 and hope for a very nice payout with the higher odds.

You need to be very organised and disciplined for this to work. Some of the bigger players use excel sheets with complex formulas. You can also bet on sports. My personnal favorite is to bet on Soccer since there are so many factors that can determine the winner of a match but they have soo much variance it gets overwhelming even for the bookies. If you look at the rates, it can earn you upwards of 100$ per game if you charge by wins for playing for higher ranked players.

Obviously, the majority of us aren’t gonna earn that much per game. Even small boosts can earn you 20-30$ an hour as long as you win games, which can be quite easy to make if you are decent at the game you spend most time on. The hardest part of this strategy is finding customers in a market full of boosters. Why isn’t this higher? Because only this is only worth it for a select few. This is great if you already have a good following in a certain game community or if you’re just really passionate at the game you play. With the recent addition of “bits donations” and “twitch affiliate” program, it’s become easier than ever to earn a living off of Twitch. The key to success here is to stay consistent by giving your viewers a schedule and by being active in your own community. What I mean by being active in your own community is to interact with your chat, regularly read your chat so they feel important and if you have a social media page, reply to your fanbase. This is key to turning random viewers into a loyal fanbase that will consistently come back to your stream everyday of your stream. It’ll grow slowly but as long as they become loyal to your stream, they will hardly go anywhere else.

Once you have a decent following, start accepting donations more. You’ll also receive affiliate offers in your twitch inbox as your fanbase grows, which can further increase your monthly revenue. This method takes a lot of work but as long as you’re consistent and you’ve locked in loyal viewers, as long as you stream, you will make a good living out of this.

#1 – Affiliate Marketing

This is one of the best money making methods out there for gamers who spend a lot of time on their hobby. With all the time sank on a select few video games we keep coming back to, we develop deep knowledge in the gaming community which we can then share to the general mass. What exactly is affiliate marketing? It’s a way of writing up posts or making videos, sharing knowledge on a blog, a youtube channel, a social media or even in person (ie: giving away pamphlets at gaming events). As you get more popular and build up a good following, you can start referring to other companies or product on your own website and they will reward you with a percentage of the sales they made off of your affiliate link.

That sounds more complicated than it actually is – Get popular, get money. But to be honest, anyone can do it, and make an extra 1000-2000$ per month simply writing up blogs or making videos and referring to products. Are you an Overwatch enthusiast? Look up affiliate programs about anything related to Overwatch like a shirt company that prints out Overwatch quotes and write about them in a blog post with your affiliate link. This is amazing for many reasons; for one, blogs are super easy to make and are free to make with websites like WordPress, and as you get bigger, you can start putting in some money to further grow your following. Youtube is also free and is placed #3 in the list of website with the most traffic. While working your blog or youtube channel, you develop videography and writing skills. It doesn’t take up a lot of time, simply take 30 minutes off of each day to write up a blog post about a different subject that pops off of your head and once or twice every week, make a blog post review about a product or simply insert them in your regular posts. You can even set up ads on your blog website with a premium membership on WordPress.

Then once you have built up a good amount of content, start investing in ads or shout-outs on a popular Instagram/Facebook page and start earning that moolah!
